We are honored to invite you to attend the symposium on “Mediterranean Cities
Sustainable Development Strategies (MCSD): Challenges & Opportunities” organized
by the City of Rome, IPALMO and the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI). The
conference scheduled to be held in Rome during 19- 22 October 2011.
As you know, the Arab Urban Development Institute (AUDI) is a non-profit, nongovernmental
organization and it is the scientific and technical arm of the Arab
Towns’ Organization (ATO) with its active membership of over 450 Arab cities and
municipalities representing 22 Arab states.
IPALMO is an initiative to conduct an International Symposium addressing
sustainable urban development issues within the Mediterranean basin, to facilitate
the establishment of a global development forum, which will enable Arab cities to
get engaged in technical and financial agreements and linkages with their
counterparts in Northern Mediterranean and the International financial and
technical organizations as well. This will in turn help Arab cities to achieve
sustainable development to improve urban population life style. Within this pipeline,
IPALMO has targeted at twelve European & Arab cities to participate in the
symposium’s activities.
